In the centre of Berkel, ING Real Estate Development extended the village centre, whilst at the same time, on the initiative of the businesses concerned, the shopping centre was refurbished.
The upgrading of this centre is a typical example of area development, in which ING Real Estate Development was responsible for acquiring, clearing out the site preparation work, reorganizing the public area.
Attractive choice of shops
The project, completed in 1997, has given the municipality and the surrounding residential centres a considerably larger and more attractive choice of shops. The original shopping areas have been brought into balance by means of interplay between an architectural and an urban approach.
