Other sites
In 2001 the residential and shopping centre project Amicitia was completed. This project was realised on the edge of the city centre of Amersfoort on the site where once stood the gentlemen's club of the same name. Dozens of shops and twenty-two apartments have been built behind its carefully renovated monumental facade.
The shopping facilities altogether comprise around 5,000 square meters of business floor space divided over two levels. In the central section is located a large sports-shop, spread over two levels with on either side a range of shops. Opposite the central section is another section of shops. The backsite of this section is turned to the urban periphery and bears a strong resemblance to an underground city wall.
Shopping precinct
In between is located a lowered shopping precinct which is accessible by means of wide stairways located on three sides. The rest of the shops can be found here and among them are a number of fashion shops and two restaurants.
