Following a real estate developer/architects consultation instigated by the City of Limoges in 2006, ING Real Estate Development has subsequently created a new ‘art of living’ in Limoges backed by a ‘durable development’ rationale.
Located in the heart of natural parkland covering 7 hectares, these houses fall into two categories:
- Detached houses: individual T5 houses with private garden
- Houses in groups of 3, 4 or 5: benefiting from a communal garden area with each dwelling having at least a large terrace and a garden (kitchen garden or classical garden on the same level).
Using wood, a material that preserves heat and which is a fundamental part of environmentally aware construction (for the facing structure, both internally and on the exterior surfaces), this housing estate of sustainable dwellings comprises of ‘super insulated’ homes with maximum prevention levels for energy wastage, all of which respond to the most exacting criteria of Durable (Sustainable) Development.
A perfectly ecological and so-called ‘passive’ habitat, with solar energy systems, water recycling and the use of wood burners for supplementary heating.
