Green light for Getz and Music Dome in Amsterdam

The City Board of Amsterdam has announced yesterday that the Getz-project and Music Dome in Amsterdam Southeast can be built.
The City sees no obstacles for the realisation of the two projects, that have a combined investment of over €300 mln. The construction start of Getz is expected in the first half of 2008.
Getz is a multifunctional center with retail, theaters, entertainment, a hotel, food & beverage, apartments and parking on the Arena Boulevard. The Music Dome is an event hall with a capacity of 15.000 visitors.
Getz is a development of OMC, a joint venture between ING Real Estate, BAM Vastgoed and Ballast Nedam Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij. OMC is also involved in the Music Dome, of which Mojo Concerts is the initiator.
The orchestra Holland Symfonia has the intent to have a fixed base in Getz. With 140 musicians, Holland Symfonia is one of the larger orchestras in The Netherlands. Holland Symfonia will program at least 25 concerts in Getz per year, and a large part of the 200 annual rehearsals will be opened for visitors of Getz.
