On 29 November 2006 the official go-ahead is given for the construction of shopping centre Eschmarke and the apartments situated above. Eschmarke is a new residential area in between Enschede and Glanerbrug. The construction will take approximately 12 months. Expectations are that the shops will open their doors before December 2008.
The shops are situated on the ground floor of the outstanding building that appears at the entrance of the new area. The inhabitants of the Eschmarke area are able to do their daily shopping at for instance a C1000 Supermarket, a bakery and a drugstore. Above the shops 23 royal sized rental apartments are situated with pretty roof gardens and private parking spaces. Other facilities, like physical therapeutically training- and revalidation centre Medifit are situated nearby.
Corio Retail Nederland becomes the owner of the shops while Altera Real Estate will be the future owner of the 23 rental apartments.
