"Kloosterbempden" in Maaseik has successfully opened its eleven shops and public parking on 15/09/06.
The present retail brands beside Colruyt, the Belgian discount supermarket, are Leenbakker, JBC, Shoe Discount, Primo Sport, Kruidvat, Blokker, Casa, Bart Smit, Hema and Pearle Opticiens.
INGREDHB has started the construction of the Kloosterbempden-project in April 2006 and finished its shops and public parking on 14/09/06.
The project defines a mixed use project of 9.600 m² retail units of the retail warehouse type, 42 apartments and lofts on top of the shops and 416 underground public parking places of which 42 are private boxes.
All units have been let before construction, all residential units have been sold. The last unit was sold 1 year after start construction. Apartments will be delivered during November.
The public parking is owned and run by the city of Maaseik. The eleven retail units are sold, as a whole, to Immo-Bouw Ruijters, part of Ruijters Groep.
On the eve of the official opening, 250 invitees, mostly collaborators of the project, enjoided the festive ceremony followed by a "white summer lounge party", serving excellent appetizers and drinks.
