On Thursday 23 February, ING Real Estate Germany celebrated the opening of Cannstatter Carré in Bad Cannstatt by welcoming 40,000 visitors on the first day of business.
Cannstatter Carré adds a welcome new dimension to the retail offer in this cityquarter of Stuttgart. With a large 5000 m² Kaufland supermarket the shopping center has a natural pull for many area residents long starved for a full-offer of high-quality daily goods. The presence of other anchors such as H&M, C&A, Esprit and New Yorker completes a strong retail offer on over 22,600 m², across 2 floors.
The shopping center was officially opened by ING Real Estate Germany’s country manager, Michael L. Flesch, who handed over a ceremonial key to the property management team. The ceremony marked the culmination of more than 19-months of hard work by our ING Real Estate team in Germany, many of whom were on hand to witness the festivities. They were joined by Wil van der Have, General Manager responsible for Germany, Spain and the UK, who congratulated them on their accomplishments.
As the 40,000 shoppers cued to do their first purchases, construction continued on the 13,000 m² of office space which will be delivered later on in the year. Another opening is scheduled for the beginning of March, when the Fitness Company will open their health and fitness center in the complex. Rounding out the facilities is a Q-Park parking garage that can accommodate up to 740 cars.
In total 120,000 people have visited the center during the first three days of business.
