(Senior) Investment Analyst, focus client advice

The Research & Strategy Europe Department ( RSE) is accountable for the advice of strategic and tactical portfolio decisions/policy of the ING Real Estate investment funds in South-East Asia, US, UK, Canada and Continental Europe.

The RSE team consist of fifty employees globally. A substantial part of the team focuses on the real estate market in Continental Europe. Due to the growth of the portfolio and the number of investments, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague for the position of (Senior) Investment Analyst.

The (Senior) Investment Analyst reports to the Managing Director Research & Strategy Continental Europe.

Responsibilities 

• Investigate the investment market (listed and non-listed real estate, bonds, equities etc.) and gather insight in the demands and constraints of investors. Execute research on aspects that affect both real estate markets and capital markets. 
• Monitor the real estate investment process and secures the role of research in that process. Signal new concepts and opportunities in (new) markets for real estate. 
• Analyse portfolios and developments of investments and formulate model portfolios and investment opinions. 
• Provide independent advice to (external) clients, for example about an optimal asset location. 
• Provide advice to internal and external clients about the quantitative and qualitative investment analysis. 
• Investigate the consequences of the (changing) national and international investment rules and give insight in the effect on the investment strategies.
• Analyse business activities (strategy and investments) of competitors. 
• Support in developing a long term market vision including research position within ING Real Estate. 
• Participate in multi disciplinary project teams
• Participate in relevant networks to be informed about developments in Real Estate sector and actively present ING Real Estate as a professional party in the international real estate investment market. 
• Have an active role in spreading knowledge throughout ING Real Estate and ING.

Prerequisites

For this position the following requirements apply 

• You have an academic degree in business administration, economics or finance
• You have experience in international investment organizations.
• Preferably you have a CFA certificate and/or specific knowledge of the real estate investment market and pension industry.
• As a person you are enthusiastic, solid and down to earth.
• You are analytical and you are able to extract relevant details from complex information.
• You have the skills to develop a longer term vision and furthermore you are flexible and creative.
• The international environment requires excellent oral and writing skills in Dutch and English 
• You have excellent writing skills 
• Finally, you are a team player within a team of specialists, who has the ability to work independently.
