What attracted me to come and work for ING Real Estate was the opportunity to combine my background – I studied architecture at the Technical University in Delft – with business economics, plus the name and fame of ING Real Estate. It was a good choice.
Starting in the Young Professional Programme
After graduating in real estate & housing, I joined the company as a Real Estate Finance trainee. During the one-and-a-half year programme I have seen all different aspects of the real estate lending business. Besides learning on the job I also got the opportunity of extending my theoretical knowledge through different courses. After finishing the programme I became a Finance Risk Manager at the Credit Analysis department in The Hague. Then I worked as a risk manager for all three business lines in Sydney Australia. And, since August 2007, I've been a senior account manager at the Real Estate Finance Amsterdam office.

Now I’ve been working at ING Real Estate for three years, I head up a team of account managers. Together with my relationship manager I try to meet all of our clients’ wishes regarding the financing of their real estate. What I like most about my job is the opportunity it's given me to grow personally and professionally, the people I work with, and – I have to say – I really love the real estate business. What’s more, in my view, the culture within ING Real Estate strikes just the right balance between formal and informal.
Gaining experience all the time
As I studied architecture, I’ve had to learn a lot about economics, finance and legal affairs. But it's great knowing that I’m gaining experience all the time and that my clients are satisfied. If you love real estate and are prepared to work hard, I suggest you take a look at ING Real Estate.
