Know local markets

I studied finance and banking. My first professional experience was working in the finance department of Mc Donald’s in Poland. Then I joined the development department, supporting the process of opening new outlets throughout the country. I got to know local markets in quite a challenging environment, working as the only woman in what is predominantly a male business.

Getting to know the complicated investment process from the beginning and being able to see tangible results convinced me that this is what I wanted to do in my career. After Mc Donald's, I got involved in land acquisitions at the French developer – Bouygues Immobilier Poland.  Now I’m continuing with the same line of work at ING Real Estate Development as a project developer. Previously I was involved in development in the restaurant and residential sectors, whereas here I’ve had the opportunity to investigate other sectors such as retail and offices.

Connecting several strings

What I love most about my current job is the excitement. No two projects are the same. You need to think in a complex way and be able to connect several strings – one day you’re operating like a lawyer, the second as an engineer, the next day you’re a salesman. This diversity is what attracts me.
I need to be a good, patient negotiator, a financial expert, know about design and architecture, and have a feeling for engineering. I’m training myself to become a professional in all of these fields and would like become an even tougher negotiator as well as an expert on planning and design.

Job satisfaction

I get job satisfaction from the variety of projects and tasks, the constant movement, contacts with people and the tangible results of my work. If you’re thinking about working for ING Real Estate I would simply say “go for it! You won’t regret it.”
