- 1996: ING Group acquired the Pacific Mutual Group of companies including Armstrong Jones Management Limited, a funds management/life company which had businesses in both Australia and New Zealand.
- 1999: ING Australia (then known as Mercantile Mutual) acquired fund manager, Heine Management Limited and merged Armstrong Jones Office Fund & Prime Credit Property Trust to become ING Office Fund. Prime Industrial Property Trust & Armstrong Jones Industrial Fund became ING Industrial Fund.
- 2001: Mercantile Mutual re-branded to their long standing parent company ING.
- 2001: ING and ANZ formed a Joint Venture that included Insurance, Superannuation and Banking services. ING Real Estate Australia became a separate platform with the ING Real Estate’s Global Business and is now the holding company for all ING Real Estate entities in Australia.
